Delivery
and returns.
Every bottle travels in its handcrafted timber case.
Where we deliver
We deliver anywhere in Australia. Delivery is included in the price; there is no separate charge at checkout.
How long it takes
Orders are packed by hand. Allow one to two business days for dispatch, then two to seven business days in transit depending on your location. Tasmanian, regional and remote addresses sit at the longer end of that range.
How it travels
Every bottle is packed in its timber case inside a shipping carton. The Cellar Case is packed in a six-bottle divider box. All deliveries require a signature.
If something arrives broken
Photograph the carton and the bottle before unpacking any further, and email the photographs to hello@philtre.au within seven days of delivery. We will replace the order or refund it in full, whichever you prefer. You will not be asked to return broken glass.
Change of mind
If you change your mind, write to us within 30 days of delivery. We will accept the return of any bottle that is unopened and in its original case, and refund the purchase price once it reaches us. You pay the return postage on a change-of-mind return. We cannot accept change-of-mind returns of opened bottles, because this is an unpasteurised food product.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. If anything on this page conflicts with those guarantees, the guarantees apply.
Terms of sale.
Who you are buying from
Philtre, P.O. Box 9394, Deakin ACT 2600, Australia. Contact hello@philtre.au.
Prices
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST and delivery within Australia. Prices may change, but the price shown at the moment you complete checkout is the price you pay.
Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details, and no card details are entered on this website — checkout takes place on Stripe's own secure pages. Your bank statement will show a descriptor beginning with PHILTRE.
Orders
An order is accepted when we dispatch it. If we cannot fulfil an order — because a batch has sold out, or because we cannot deliver to your address — we will tell you and refund you in full.
The product
Philtre is an unpasteurised, unfiltered vinegar containing a live mother culture. Sediment and cloudiness are normal and expected. It is a food product, not a therapeutic good, and nothing on this site is medical advice. Store upright at room temperature, out of direct sun.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Australian Capital Territory and the Commonwealth of Australia.
Privacy.
The short version
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no tracking scripts, and has no third-party JavaScript on it. We do not know who visits. There is nothing to consent to, because nothing is being collected here.
Fonts
The site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Doing so discloses your IP address and browser details to Google, as any request to any server does. No cookie is set by that request.
When you order
Checkout happens on Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email address, delivery address, phone number and payment details in order to take payment and let us send you the order. Stripe's handling of that information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We receive your name, contact details and delivery address so that we can pack and send your order, and we pass the delivery address to the carrier.
What we keep, and for how long
We keep order records for as long as Australian tax and business record-keeping law requires — currently five years. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to.
Your rights
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or complain about how we have handled it, by writing to hello@philtre.au. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
